Το νέο Firmware δεν μπορεί να “περαστεί” στη μηχανή από τους χρήστες της μηχανής, αλλά η μηχανή θα πρέπει να αποσταλεί στα εξουσιοδοτημένα service της ιαπωνικής εταιρείας για αναβάθμιση. Η διαδικασία αναβάθμισης είναι δωρεάν.
Η αναβάθμιση θα επιτρέπει του φακούς της εταιρείας Canon EF Cinema να αποθηκεύουν τα δεδομένα του φακού κατά τη λήψη στα αρχεία video της μηχανής.
