Event Details
Twenty years after its first edition, the Stereosis Outdoor Photography Exhibition returns to Thessaloniki’s New Waterfront with the participation of 138 photographers.
From Tuesday, June 30 until Saturday, July 4, 2026, the Garden of the Afternoon Sun on Thessaloniki’s New Waterfront will host the 20th Outdoor Photography Exhibition of the Stereosis Photography Center, an event that has evolved into one of the city’s most important open-air photography institutions.
Under the title “99 Hours Stereosis On View”, this year’s exhibition presents the work of 138 new photographers from Thessaloniki, transforming the city’s waterfront into a vibrant exhibition space of images, ideas and stories.
99 Continuous Hours of Photography
For 99 continuous hours, visitors will have the opportunity to explore hundreds of photographic works that capture personal journeys, social observations and contemporary artistic explorations.
The event remains faithful to the philosophy that established it two decades ago: bringing photography into public space and making it accessible to everyone, beyond the boundaries of galleries and exhibition venues.
An Institution with More Than 20 Years of Presence
The Stereosis Photography Center has been an independent space for education, research and cultural production in Thessaloniki for more than twenty years.
Through seminars, exhibitions, publications, international collaborations and public initiatives, it has actively contributed to the development of the city’s photographic community, creating a stable environment for education and creative expression around photography.
Cultural Activities and Collaboration with the Thessaloniki International Film Festival
Alongside the exhibition, a programme of cultural activities will take place, including music events, discussions, screenings and meetings with creators.
A special place in the programme is held by the collaboration with the Thessaloniki International Film Festival, within which Richard Linklater’s new film, “Nouvelle Vague”, will be screened. This collaboration highlights the creative dialogue between photography and cinema, two media that share common narrative and aesthetic roots.

A total of 138 photographers from the PH1, PH2, PH3, PH4, PH5 and PH5ii groups of Stereosis are participating in this year’s event.

What We Think
The Stereosis outdoor exhibition has managed to evolve into one of Thessaloniki’s most important photography institutions. The completion of 20 years of presence, the participation of 138 photographers and the opening towards other art forms, such as cinema, confirm the dynamic nature of an event that remains alive and constantly evolving.
