A single image said to show the upcoming DJI Osmo Nano 2 and Osmo Action 7 has appeared online, with DJI yet to officially confirm either camera.

PhotoRumors published a single image on August 19, 2026 which, according to the report, appeared on Chinese social media and is linked to two future DJI models: the Osmo Nano 2 and Osmo Action 7. The source identifies the devices as potential successors to the Osmo Nano and Osmo Action 6 respectively.

The leak is interesting because both current models are still relatively new. The Osmo Nano was introduced in September 2025, while the Action 6 followed in November of the same year. If the image is genuine and the product names are accurate, it would suggest that DJI is already testing next-generation hardware. That does not, however, mean either product is close to commercial release.

What the leak actually shows

The key point is that this is essentially a single image rather than a separate set of photographs showing the two cameras.

PhotoRumors presents it as the first leak connected to the Osmo Nano 2 and Osmo Action 7, stating that it originated on Chinese social media. The source does not accompany the image with detailed technical specifications or an official DJI document confirming the devices.

As a result, the image cannot reliably confirm sensors, video resolutions, battery capacities, apertures, internal storage or final dimensions. As of August 20, 2026, DJI has not officially announced an Osmo Nano 2 or Osmo Action 7.

The possible timeline

PhotoRumors says both cameras are expected by the end of 2026. This is information attached to the leak, however, rather than an official DJI schedule.

For the Action 7, a launch later in the year would not be unreasonable given the series’ update cycle, but the timeframe is more striking for the Nano 2. The original Osmo Nano was only announced on September 23, 2025.

The existence of a prototype or test unit does not necessarily mean a final product is about to launch. Manufacturers can test hardware months before commercial release, and both design and specifications can change before production.

The Action 7 already has a difficult job against the Action 6

The current Osmo Action 6 already represents a major technological step for the series. It features a square 1/1.1-inch CMOS sensor, variable f/2.0-f/4.0 aperture, 4K recording at up to 120fps and 64 GB of built-in storage, with approximately 50 GB available to the user.

DJI later added recording at up to 8K/30fps through firmware. That means a future Action 7 is unlikely to rely on resolution alone as its main upgrade. More meaningful improvements could involve the sensor, thermal performance, higher frame rates, battery life or stabilization, although none of these has been reliably leaked so far.

PTTL previously covered the DJI Osmo Action 6 and its variable aperture in detail, followed by the firmware update that enabled 8K recording.

The Nano 2 is the bigger question mark

The original Osmo Nano is an extremely compact wearable camera weighing 52 grams, with a 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor, 143-degree field of view, 4K/60fps recording and 4K/120fps slow motion. It also offers 10-bit color and D-Log M, and comes with either 64 GB or 128 GB of internal storage.

Because the first generation only arrived in September 2025, a possible Nano 2 launch before the end of 2026 would represent a particularly fast refresh cycle.

PTTL previously covered both the first Osmo Nano leak and its official September 2025 launch. The camera debuted in Europe at €279 for the 64 GB Standard Combo and €309 for the 128 GB version.

Pricing and availability remain unknown

There is no official price for the Osmo Nano 2 or Osmo Action 7, nor is there a confirmed European release date.

For comparison, the Osmo Action 6 launched in Europe at €379 for the Standard Combo and €479 for the Adventure Combo, while the Osmo Nano started at €279.

Without an official announcement or reliable European retailer listing, any pricing for the new models would currently be little more than an estimate.

What to watch for next

For the Action 7, the key questions are whether DJI will evolve the Action 6’s square sensor and variable aperture, and whether it can deliver meaningful improvements to image quality, thermal management and battery life.

For the Nano 2, it will be particularly important to see whether DJI maintains the extremely compact design and Vision Dock concept, and whether compatibility with the existing magnetic accessory ecosystem remains.

For now, none of those points has been confirmed. The current leak provides mainly a first visual indication rather than technical information.

What we think

The single image is interesting because it suggests that something may already be moving around DJI’s next generation of action cameras, but it is not enough on its own for firm conclusions. The Action 7 appears more logical in terms of timing, while the Nano 2 needs more evidence because the first Nano is still so new. Until certifications, official teasers or reliable technical leaks appear, the safest conclusion is that this remains unconfirmed information.
