Fujifilm has announced the new FUJINON GF19-35mmT3.5 PZ OIS WR, a wide power zoom lens for the GFX system, priced at $5,699.

Fujifilm introduced the FUJINON GF19-35mmT3.5 PZ OIS WR, the second power zoom lens in the GF lineup, with availability starting on July 23, 2026. The lens covers a 19-35mm focal range, equivalent to about 15-28mm in 35mm format, and is aimed at productions using the large format GFX system.

The announcement matters because Fujifilm is extending the cine-oriented GF lens concept into the ultra-wide range, offering a tool designed to work directly with the GFX ETERNA 55 and the GF32-90mmT3.5 PZ OIS WR for more complete filmmaking workflows.

Wide power zoom for GFX

The GF19-35mmT3.5 PZ OIS WR is designed for the large format sensors of the GFX series, which are approximately 1.7 times larger than a 35mm full-frame sensor.

The 19-35mm range provides a very wide field of view, useful for scenes where space, depth and scale are important. According to Fujifilm, it is the widest angle of view available for the GF format.

Constant T3.5 and optical design

The new lens maintains a constant maximum aperture of T3.5 throughout the zoom range, an important feature for video productions where exposure needs to remain stable while changing focal length.

Its optical construction consists of 23 elements in 15 groups, including four ED elements and three aspherical elements. It also features a 13-blade iris, aiming for smoother bokeh and a more cinematic image character.

A companion to the GF32-90mmT3.5

Fujifilm positions the GF19-35mmT3.5 PZ OIS WR as a natural companion to the GF32-90mmT3.5 PZ OIS WR, allowing the two lenses to cover everything from ultra-wide to more standard framing with consistent rendering.

The two lenses share a similar operational layout for the focus, zoom and iris rings, while both maintain a constant T3.5 aperture. The new lens measures 222mm in length and weighs approximately 2.1kg, with dimensions that make lens swaps on set easier without major rig changes.

Designed for video production

Fujifilm says the lens inherits handling and design elements from the Premista series, which is aimed at large format cinema cameras. At the same time, the power zoom mechanism has been optimized for precise and smooth operation.

Zoom control is available through the lens, while on the GFX ETERNA 55 it is also supported from the camera body. On the GFX100 II, power zoom control is supported only through the lens.

Stabilization, Nano GI coating and reduced breathing

The GF19-35mmT3.5 PZ OIS WR includes built-in optical image stabilization, making it more practical for handheld, shoulder-mounted and run-and-gun filmmaking.

Fujifilm has added Nano GI coating, designed to reduce flare and ghosting when light enters the lens at oblique angles. The lens has also been tuned to suppress focus breathing, an especially important factor for professional video work.

Price and availability

The FUJINON GF19-35mmT3.5 PZ OIS WR will be available from July 23, 2026, priced at $5,699 in the United States.

That makes it $300 less expensive than the GF32-90mmT3.5 PZ OIS WR, the other GF power zoom lens for cinema-oriented productions.

Durability in demanding conditions

The lens features a dust- and weather-resistant construction, with Fujifilm positioning it for demanding shooting environments.

The WR designation shows that the company sees it as a production tool for outdoor shoots, where reliability and consistent operation are critical.

What we think

The FUJINON GF19-35mmT3.5 PZ OIS WR shows that Fujifilm is steadily building a more complete GFX ecosystem for professional video. It is not a lens for everyone, but for large format productions that need a wide zoom, a constant T-stop, stabilization and efficient on-set operation, it is a very important addition.
