Lomography has introduced a reloadable half-frame film camera that comes preloaded with film and can deliver up to 72 exposures from a standard 35mm roll.
The new Simple Use Reloadable Film Camera Half-Frame is designed as an accessible and ready-to-use option for analogue photography, without being limited by the disposable-camera concept.
Its main advantage is the half-frame format, which divides each standard 35mm frame into two smaller images, allowing photographers to capture more photographs, create diptychs and reduce the cost per shot.
Ready to shoot
The camera is available preloaded with either LomoChrome Classicolor ISO 200 color film or Lady Grey ISO 400 black-and-white film. A battery and built-in flash are included, allowing the camera to be used straight out of the box.
The color version also includes three colored gel filters for the flash, enabling users to add different color effects to their images.

Half-frame format and up to 72 exposures
Each image measures 17 × 24 mm, approximately half the size of a standard 35mm frame. As a result, a roll that normally provides 36 exposures can deliver up to 72 photographs.
The camera initially comes ready to capture 40 images on its preloaded film. Once that roll is finished, it can be reloaded with any standard 35mm film.
The vertical half-frame format is also suitable for social media, while two consecutive photographs can be combined into diptych compositions.

Not a single-use camera
Despite its simple construction and point-and-shoot approach, the Simple Use Half-Frame is not designed to be discarded after the first roll.
Users can reload it and continue shooting, setting it apart from traditional disposable cameras and reducing waste.
Technical specifications
The camera uses 35mm film and features a 21mm lens. Its shutter speed is fixed at 1/120 second, while the aperture is set at f/9.
Focusing ranges from 0.6 meters to infinity. The built-in flash is charged with a single press and requires approximately 15 seconds to recharge. It is powered by one 1.5V AAA battery, included in the package.

What we think
The Simple Use Half-Frame is an interesting option for anyone looking to explore analogue photography without complex controls. Its reloadable body and ability to capture up to 72 photographs per roll make it more practical and cost-effective than a conventional disposable camera.
