Summary

  • The new PTZ cameras use a 1.2-inch global-shutter MOS sensor
  • 5K oversampling produces 4K output while reducing motion distortion
  • The 22x lens covers a 22.5–500mm equivalent range
  • AW-UER200 adds roll and simultaneous 16:9 and 9:16 outputs
  • AW-UE200 ships in February 2027 and UER200 in Q2

Panasonic has announced four professional PTZ cameras with a 1.2-inch global-shutter MOS sensor for sport, concerts, studios and large live productions.

AW-UE200W/K and AW-UE210W/K use conventional pan and tilt, while AW-UER200W/K and AW-UER210W/K add a roll axis. Panasonic describes the series as a world first among production PTZ cameras with a MOS sensor of at least one inch, based on its own September 2026 research.

5K sensor and fast movement without rolling shutter

The sensor captures the full frame simultaneously, reducing bent vertical lines and distortion in fast motion. Its 5K image is oversampled to 4K. A future update is expected to enable HD recording at 120 or 180fps.

22x zoom and smooth robotics

The 22x lens covers a 22.5–500mm equivalent range and an 80-degree horizontal angle at the wide end. Zoom duration can be set from 0.5 to 180 seconds. AW-UE200 pan and tilt reach 400 degrees per second with 0.2-second acceleration.

UER200 rotates the complete frame

AW-UER200 adds roll from –200° to +200°, enabling horizon changes without an external robotic head. It can also output horizontal 16:9 and vertical 9:16 feeds simultaneously for broadcast and social delivery.

Networked production

AW-UE210 and AW-UER210 add SMPTE ST 2110 and Dante, with JPEG XS planned for a future update. The family will be shown at IBC 2026 in Amsterdam from September 11–14.

Availability and price

AW-UE200 and AW-UE210 are due in February 2027. AW-UER200 and AW-UER210 follow in Q2 2027. Pricing has not been announced. More information is available on the official AW-UE200/210 and AW-UER200/210 pages.

What we think

Global shutter is the foundation of the announcement because these cameras target scenes where motion distortion is immediately visible. UER200 adds a second idea: one camera creating dynamic movement and two aspect ratios, reducing the need for separate shots.

Frequently asked questions

When will they ship?

UE200/210 in February 2027 and UER200/210 in Q2.

Which models support SMPTE ST 2110?

AW-UE210 and AW-UER210.

What is different about UER200?

It adds roll and simultaneous 16:9 and 9:16 output.
