A four-month photography seminar for beginners will begin in Larissa on October 15, 2026, led by Andreas Katsakos.

fmag and the fplus photography group are organizing the seminar “Introduction to the Basic Principles of Photography” in collaboration with the Deputy Mayoral Office for Culture of the Municipality of Larissa. Classes will take place at Mylos tou Pappa, on the first floor, at 53 Georgiadou Street.

What the seminar includes

The seminar aims to familiarize participants with the basic principles of photography through theoretical and technical knowledge that supports the understanding and use of photographic language as a means of expression.

The course includes photographer presentations, outdoor shooting sessions for practical application, assignments and critical analysis of the photographs created during the seminar. Participants will receive a certificate of attendance upon completion.

Instructor Andreas Katsakos

Andreas Katsakos was born in Larissa in 1973 and studied photography at I.I.E.K. E.S.P. He has been involved in photography since 1996, and his work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions in Greece and abroad and published in group albums and photography magazines.

In 2010 he co-created fmag, and in 2013 he established the fplus photography group. He has also curated and organized a large number of photography exhibitions and events.

What we think

The seminar combines theory, practical shooting, assignments and image critique, a structure that can help beginners build a more systematic foundation in photography. The weekly schedule and four-month duration also allow time to apply and revisit what is covered between sessions.
