POCO has introduced the X8 and C95 Pro, two new smartphones with 50MP main cameras aimed at different needs in the affordable segment.

The X8 is the stronger imaging option with OIS, a 16MP selfie camera and a 1.5K AMOLED display, while the C95 Pro focuses more on price, a large screen and battery life.

The X8 main camera is a 50MP unit with 0.64μm pixels, f/1.8 aperture, a 5-element lens and OIS. It is joined by a 2MP f/2.4 depth camera, while the front camera is 16MP with 1μm pixels, f/2.4 and a 5-element lens.

Rear-camera photo features include Live Moment, HDR, Portrait, Underwater, Ultra HD, Panorama, Documents and Pro mode. POCO lists JPEG as the captured image format; RAW support is not listed in the official specifications.

Video and Underwater Mode

Rear and front cameras record up to 1080p/30fps, with no 4K option. That is a clear limitation for more demanding video production despite the OIS-equipped main camera.

Underwater Mode is designed to make use of the phone’s enhanced water resistance. Certification does not mean permanent waterproofing, and resistance can diminish through normal use.

Display, construction and performance

The 6.83-inch AMOLED display has a 2772×1280 resolution, 447ppi, up to 120Hz refresh rate, 12-bit colour and 3500-nit peak brightness. It supports DCI-P3, DC dimming and 3840Hz PWM dimming and is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2. The Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 is built on a 4nm process.

8340mAh battery and 67W charging

The silicon-carbon battery has a typical 8340mAh capacity, supports 67W HyperCharge and up to 22.5W wired reverse charging. The X8 also carries IP66/IP68 dust and water resistance certification.

The C95 Pro uses a 50MP AI dual-camera system. POCO does not list OIS for this model, while the front camera is 8MP. The shared 50MP headline therefore does not make its camera package equivalent to the X8.

Portrait and Dual Video

Portrait mode uses multi-frame processing for portraits, while Dual Video records with the front and rear cameras simultaneously. This is useful for vlogs and social content where both subject and presenter need to appear.

6.9-inch display, Helio G91-Ultra and 7500mAh battery

The 6.9-inch display supports AdaptiveSync up to 120Hz and is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i. MediaTek’s Helio G91-Ultra is paired with 6GB or 8GB RAM and 128GB or 256GB storage. The 7500mAh battery charges at 45W and supports up to 22.5W wired reverse charging. The phone is rated IP64.

Price and availability

In the UK, initial promotional pricing places the POCO X8 8GB/256GB at £269 and the POCO C95 Pro at £159. Prices, memory configurations and availability vary by market and may change after the launch period.

What we think

For image creators, the X8 is the more interesting option thanks to OIS, its 16MP selfie camera and superior AMOLED display. The C95 Pro is the simpler, cheaper option, with a large battery and Dual Video. The main shared limitation is the lack of 4K video.
