Summary
- Wireless Micro is RØDE's simplest wireless microphone system.
- Setup takes only a few seconds.
- Audio quality is very good for content creation.
- Interview Micro significantly improves interview workflows.
- It is one of the most complete solutions for smartphone creators.
The RØDE Wireless Micro is the company’s simplest wireless microphone solution and is aimed primarily at creators producing content with a smartphone. With the addition of the Interview Micro, this compact system becomes more versatile and can be used not only for social media videos but also for interviews, presentations and street content.
The philosophy behind the Wireless Micro is very different from that of the Wireless GO II and Wireless PRO. Here, RØDE prioritizes simplicity and ease of use, removing anything that could make things more complicated for a new content creator.
We used the Wireless Micro together with the Interview Micro in everyday shoots, social media videos and interviews to see whether it can serve as a complete solution for someone looking for better audio without complicated equipment.
What’s Included in the Box
The Wireless Micro consists of two transmitters with built-in microphones, a receiver that connects directly to a smartphone and a charging case.
The Interview Micro is a separate accessory that transforms the transmitter into a handheld microphone. The package also includes a windshield for outdoor recording.
The overall philosophy of the package is clear: as few accessories as possible and the fastest setup possible.

Design and Build Quality
The first thing you notice is the size.
The transmitters are genuinely small and lightweight, allowing them to be attached easily to T-shirts, shirts and jackets without attracting attention.
The charging case is also very compact and can easily be carried in a pocket or small bag.
Build quality is at the high standard we have come to expect from RØDE. Despite its small size, nothing feels cheap or fragile.
The Interview Micro follows the same philosophy, with solid construction and a comfortable feel in the hand.
Setup and First Use
One of the biggest advantages of the Wireless Micro is the setup process.
The transmitters and receiver are already paired at the factory. The user does not need to go through any pairing process or additional setup.
Simply connect the receiver to your smartphone, take the transmitters out of the charging case and start recording.
The process really is that simple.
For a new content creator, this means being able to start producing videos immediately without spending time on technical settings.

The RØDE Capture App
The Wireless Micro can be used without any app, but using RØDE Capture provides several additional features.
Through the app, users can monitor battery status, install firmware updates and access basic information about the system.
The application follows the same philosophy as the product itself: simple, clean and easy to use.
Audio Quality
The most important question naturally concerns audio quality.
The difference compared to a smartphone’s built-in microphone is huge. Voices sound clearer, closer and significantly more detailed.
The Wireless Micro performs particularly well in product presentations, vlogs, social media videos and interviews.
The sound signature is typically RØDE, delivering a clean and pleasant result that requires very little post-processing.
It naturally does not reach the level of the company’s more expensive professional solutions, but the quality it offers is more than sufficient for its intended audience.
Interview Micro in Real-World Use
This is perhaps the biggest surprise of the combination.
The Interview Micro transforms the transmitter into a handheld microphone, fundamentally changing how the Wireless Micro can be used.
For street interviews, events and product presentations, the experience becomes much more natural.
The operator gains better control of the microphone, can move it easily between speakers and maintain a consistent distance from the subject.
The result is more consistent recordings and a noticeably more professional appearance in the final video.
Battery Life
Battery life was never an issue during testing.
The charging case allows multiple recharges of both the transmitters and receiver, keeping the system ready to use throughout the day.
For most content creators, the Wireless Micro’s battery life will be more than sufficient.

What We Liked
- Extremely easy setup and operation
- The microphones and magnetic clips can be stored together inside the charging case
- Very compact and lightweight system
- Good build quality
- Clean and pleasant audio quality
- Excellent portability
- Very good battery life
- The Interview Micro significantly improves the interview experience

What We Didn’t Like
- The furry windshields come off easily, cannot be stored inside the charging case and require separate transport
- There is no onboard recording for additional backup security
- External lavalier microphones are not supported
- Its use is essentially limited to mobile devices
- The Interview Micro adds another accessory that needs to be carried alongside the rest of the system
Is It Worth It?
The Wireless Micro is not trying to replace RØDE’s more advanced wireless systems, nor is it aimed at professional broadcast productions.
Instead, it offers an extremely simple way to achieve quality audio in videos without technical knowledge or complicated workflows.
The addition of the Interview Micro further expands the system’s usability and makes it suitable for interviews, events and street content.
For creators who produce content exclusively or primarily with a smartphone, this is one of the most complete and user-friendly packages currently available.
At the time of writing, the Wireless Micro is available in the Greek market from around €89, while the Interview Micro costs approximately €23.
What We Think
The RØDE Wireless Micro delivers exactly what it promises. It offers significantly better audio than a smartphone without requiring technical knowledge, complicated setup or expensive equipment.
The Interview Micro is more than just an accessory. It meaningfully expands the system’s capabilities, especially for creators producing interviews and street content.
For new content creators looking to invest in their first serious wireless audio system, this combination is one of the most complete solutions currently available.
