The 4th Analog Photography Festival returns to Athens from 30 September to 11 October 2026, bringing together exhibitions, presentations, workshops, discussions and live music.
Organised by Balkaniko, the fourth edition spreads its programme across Athens and Peristeri, focusing on film photography, darkroom practice and analogue techniques including solargraphy.
Opening with the analogue self-portrait
The main exhibition opens on Wednesday, 30 September at 20:00 at YpOpsi, 10 Thoukydidou Street, Peristeri. Its theme is “The analogue self-portrait in the age of the digital self”.
Ahead of the official opening, three pinhole-camera and solargraphy workshops were organised with photographer and photography lecturer Pavlos Satoglou. Around 30 participants took part, and their photographs will be presented during the festival.
Talks and presentations at IRIS
On Monday, 5 October, from 18:00 to 21:00, the programme moves to IRIS cinema-theatre at 55 Akadimias Street, with a solargraphy exhibition and talks focused on analogue photography and technique.

- Pinhole and solargraphy workshop presentation by Pavlos Satoglou.
- “Reversal of photosensitive substances” by Panagiotis Ilias.
- “Vivian Mayer: The self-portraits” by Georgia Imsiridou.
- “Why does the artist turn the camera on themselves? Body self-portraits” by Eleftheria Kalpouzou.
- A presentation by Ivan Velisavljević on analogue experimental cinema meeting digital practice.
Round-table discussion and NAKED live at UNDERFLOW
On Thursday, 8 October at 18:00, UNDERFLOW Record Store and Art Gallery, 39 Kallirrois Street, hosts a round-table discussion titled “The Greek photography market: what do we have and what are we missing?”.
The same evening features Serbian band NAKED, which, according to the organisers, will perform in Greece for the first time. The appearance is part of Balkaniko’s new collaboration with Beogrαθήνα.
Closing at o.art.ath
The festival concludes on Sunday, 11 October at 19:00 at o.art.ath gallery, 36 Sporadon Street, Kypseli. Ioannis Tzaneteas’ Polaroid exhibition “the girl” will be open to the public from Saturday, 3 October.
