Event Details
Fujifilm has announced the GFX Challenge Grant Program 2026, with applications open until August 17, 2026.
The international program is aimed at photographers and video creators, both professionals and amateurs, who want to produce a creative project with Fujifilm’s support. Applications opened on June 16, 2026, and submissions are made with a project proposal in PDF format.
The importance of the program is that it does not simply reward a finished project, but funds the production process itself. Selected creators receive financial support, use of GFX equipment and mentoring from Fujifilm technicians and product experts.
What the GFX Challenge Grant Program 2026 offers
The program includes 5 Global Grant Awards and 10 Regional Grant Awards.
The 5 global winners will receive a $10,000 grant, complimentary use of a GFX System body, including the FUJIFILM GFX ETERNA 55, as well as two GF lenses for the duration of their project. They will also have access to mentoring and technical support from Fujifilm.
The 10 regional winners will receive a $5,000 grant, with the same use of a GFX System body, two GF lenses and technical support.
The total approximate value of all program awards is $229,500.
Until when applications are open
The submission period runs from June 16, 2026 to August 17, 2026.
Applicants must prepare their proposal and submit it through the dedicated entry form. The proposal must include English text and be saved as a single PDF file.
Who can apply
The program is open to amateur and professional photographers and video creators.
Only individuals who reside in the countries or regions listed on the program’s entry submission page are eligible. Employees or officers of Fujifilm and its subsidiaries cannot participate.
No purchase is necessary to enter or win.
What the proposal must include
The proposal must be submitted as a single PDF file of up to 10MB.
The file must include Fujifilm’s preformatted cover letter, the detailed project proposal and a portfolio for each person involved in the project.
Fujifilm asks participants to explain what they want to create, what the goal of the project is, how its success will be measured, how it will be communicated to the public, how the partnership with Fujifilm will be used, what the schedule is and how the grant will be allocated.
The common language of the program is English. However, participants may accompany their proposal with another language of their choice, while language proficiency is not part of the judging criteria.
The selection process
After applications close, the first round of judging will take place from August 18 to September 6, 2026.
Fujifilm will select 15 proposals from each of the three geographical regions: the Americas, Europe / Middle East / Africa and Asia-Pacific, including Japan. In total, 45 proposals will move on to the second round.
Regional finalists will be notified by September 14, 2026, and interviews will be scheduled via Zoom or a similar platform.
The second round will take place from September 15 to September 29, 2026. From there, 5 finalists from each geographical region, 15 in total, will be selected to proceed to the final round.
The final round will take place from October 3 to October 24, 2026. The Global Grant Award judging team will select the 5 global winners, while the remaining 10 finalists will receive the Regional Grant Awards.
The winners will be announced in January 2027.
