Some video professionals are seeing their Vimeo subscription moved from the $75-per-month Advanced plan to Studio at $400 per month, with both prices based on annual billing.

This is not a blanket increase for every customer. Vimeo says it assesses how an account is used and assigns Studio when it believes the customer needs larger-team tools, higher capacity and more advanced video management. The company says fewer than 10% of paying subscribers are affected.

From $900 to $4,800 per year

Advanced is listed at $75 per month when billed annually, or $900 per year. Studio costs $400 per month billed annually, or $4,800 per year. Using the European Central Bank reference rate of €1 to $1.1622 on September 4, 2026, those figures convert to approximately €64.53 and €344.17 per month, or €774.39 and €4,130.10 per year. These are currency conversions, not official Greek retail prices.

Studio includes 10TB of storage, 36TB of annual bandwidth, 10 seats with access for as many as 200 users, three administrators, the full Vimeo AI toolset and priority support.

Notice and review

Vimeo says it emails affected customers at least 30 days before renewal. Customers who believe the classification is wrong can contact support and request a review. The point of contention is that the move follows Vimeo’s interpretation of account usage rather than a voluntary upgrade request.

What it means for creators

The higher limits may make sense for a large production department. For an independent creator or small studio, however, the $3,900 annual difference can change a budget or prompt a platform review. Customers should inspect renewal notices early, compare the new features with their real requirements and appeal when the classification appears inappropriate.

What we think

The core issue is predictability as much as price. When a service unilaterally decides that an account belongs in an enterprise-oriented tier, it should explain the criteria clearly and provide a meaningful review process.
