The AulGo aims to combine a travel camera, a wearable recorder and a dashcam in a device weighing only 56 grams.
TriLife has introduced the AulGo on Kickstarter, an ultra-compact camera featuring a Sony IMX486 sensor, 4K recording at 30 frames per second, a 1.47-inch display and wireless app control.
The new camera is notable because it sits between small action cameras and basic pocket cameras, offering magnetic mounting, a tripod socket, multiple recording modes and a lower price than several established models. However, it remains a crowdfunded product rather than a proven retail camera.
Sony Sensor and 4K Recording
The AulGo is built around a Sony IMX486 sensor and supports still images at resolutions of up to 12 megapixels, along with 4K video at 30 frames per second.
Video files are saved in MP4 format, with support for H.264 and H.265 encoding. According to the company, H.265 can significantly reduce storage requirements compared with H.264.
Footage is stored on a microSD card, while the USB-C port is used for charging and data transfers.
Stabilization Is Not Available in 4K
The camera features a gyro-based, six-axis electronic image stabilization system. It is designed to smooth footage recorded while walking, cycling or taking part in other activities involving significant movement.
There is an important limitation. Electronic stabilization is not available during 4K recording. Stabilized video requires the user to select either 2K or 1080p resolution, with recording speeds of up to 60 frames per second.
This means the AulGo cannot provide its maximum resolution and its best stabilization at the same time, which is an important consideration for users primarily interested in action footage.
Five Recording Modes
The AulGo supports five recording modes:
Normal recording
Loop recording
Slow motion
Loop recording allows the camera to overwrite the oldest footage automatically when the memory card becomes full. Combined with its ability to record while connected to external power, the device can also be used occasionally as a dashcam.
Built-In Display and Smartphone Control
A 1.47-inch screen on the back of the camera provides framing previews and access to essential settings.
Its 5.8GHz Wi-Fi connection enables remote control through a smartphone app. Users can monitor a live image, start or stop recording and transfer files for faster sharing.
The device also includes a built-in microphone with noise-reduction processing, although no independent evaluation of its recording quality has yet been published.
Magnetic Base and Tripod Mount
One of the AulGo’s more practical features is its magnetic base, which allows the camera to attach directly to metal surfaces.
A standard 1/4-inch mounting socket also provides compatibility with tripods, arms and other photographic accessories. Its removable base can additionally function as a small angled stand for vlogging, timelapse sequences and low-angle shots.
Approximately One Hour of Battery Life
The built-in battery has a capacity of 500mAh and, according to TriLife, provides up to one hour of recording on a full charge.
For longer recording sessions, the camera can be powered by a USB-C power bank. This is particularly useful for extended static shots or loop-recording applications.
Price and Availability
The AulGo is available through Kickstarter, with crowdfunding tiers starting at approximately $199. Its expected retail price is listed as $358.
The first units are scheduled to ship in November 2026, provided that production and logistics proceed according to the company’s timeline.
As with every crowdfunding campaign, backing the project is not the same as making a conventional retail purchase, and delivery of the final product is not guaranteed in the same way.

What We Think
The AulGo presents an interesting collection of features in an exceptionally small body, with its magnetic base, display and multiple recording modes adding useful flexibility.
The restriction of stabilization to lower resolutions is significant, while the small sensor and lack of independent testing prevent firm conclusions about image quality. The $199 crowdfunding price may be competitive, but the expected $358 retail price would place it against more established and extensively tested alternatives.
