The upcoming OPPO Find X10 Ultra is reportedly being tested with two periscope telephoto cameras, a 200MP LOFIC main sensor and an unusual 100MP square-format selfie camera.
A new leak from Digital Chat Station describes hardware being evaluated in an engineering prototype, rather than final specifications. OPPO has not officially unveiled the Find X10 Ultra, and some of the camera sensors are apparently still undecided.
A 200MP LOFIC main camera for difficult lighting
The main camera is tipped to feature a 200MP sensor measuring approximately 1/1.12 inches. Samsung HPA and HPU are reportedly under consideration, alongside LOFIC (Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor) technology.
LOFIC can store overflow charge when bright areas approach saturation, helping preserve highlight detail in a single exposure. For photographers and filmmakers, that could improve results in strong backlight and high-contrast scenes, provided the sensor and image processing put the extra headroom to good use.
Two periscope telephotos: 200MP plus a 50MP optical 10x
According to the leak, the first periscope telephoto would use a 200MP sensor of around 1/1.3 inches. Its optical magnification is not confirmed; estimates suggest something close to 3x, a useful range for portraits and medium-distance subjects.
A second periscope lens is reportedly planned to offer genuine 10x optical zoom at 50MP. OPPO is said to prefer a larger sensor of approximately 1/1.95 inches, but could switch to a smaller 1/2.76-inch alternative if production of the preferred part slips. That difference matters most for noise and detail in lower light, where long telephotos face particularly demanding conditions.
The particular leak does not establish a consistent, reliable ultrawide specification. It would therefore be premature to assume that every rear camera on the Ultra will use a 200MP sensor.
A square 100MP front camera
Another option reportedly being tested is a 100MP front camera with a square 1:1 sensor. This shape could support both portrait and landscape framing without physically rotating the phone, a useful feature for vlogging, video calls and content made for multiple platforms.
A 100MP resolution alone does not guarantee better selfies: sensor area, lens quality, focus and processing will determine real-world performance. There is also no confirmed information about this front camera’s video modes, resolutions or codecs.
How it compares with the Find X10 Pro Max and Find X9 Ultra
The officially announced OPPO Find X10 Pro Max has three 200MP rear cameras: main, ultrawide and telephoto. The rumored Ultra setup, by contrast, focuses on two separate periscope telephotos, with the second extending to 10x optical zoom. The accompanying image shows the Find X10 Pro Max camera assembly, not the unannounced Ultra.
The previous Find X9 Ultra already combined a 200MP main camera with a dual-periscope approach, so this would not be an entirely new philosophy. The key areas to watch are the LOFIC main sensor, the 10x sensor choice and the square selfie module.

When could it launch?
Current speculation points to a possible Chinese launch in the first half of 2027, with no official announcement date or confirmed European release. Unverified reports also mention a 6.89-inch 2K display with a 144Hz refresh rate, but the final hardware configuration remains open.
What we think
The two periscope lenses are what I would most like to try. A strong portrait telephoto paired with a genuine 10x camera for distant subjects could be far more creatively useful than relying on digital crops all the time. At concerts, while travelling or shooting wildlife, that extra framing range makes an immediate difference.
What matters more to me, though, is which sensor OPPO chooses for that 10x camera, rather than the megapixel count. The larger option would give photographers a better starting point as light levels fall. LOFIC on the main camera could also help with bright skies, windows and harsh highlights, where smartphone HDR often reveals its weaknesses.
The square selfie sensor is more practical than it first sounds. Anyone regularly creating both vertical and horizontal content knows the value of flexible framing. The final lens, video features and processing will need to support that idea instead of simply adding more megapixels.
Frequently asked questions
Has OPPO officially announced the Find X10 Ultra?
No. These specifications come from a leak concerning a prototype. OPPO has not confirmed the cameras, an announcement date or a Greek release.
Is 10x optical zoom the same as 10x digital zoom?
No. Optical zoom comes from a camera’s focal length and lens system, while digital zoom enlarges or processes part of the image. Final quality still depends on the sensor, optics and available light.
