Ricoh has formally introduced the RICOH GR IV 30th Anniversary Edition Kit, now confirming the final price, release date and full contents of the 6,000-unit collector edition.

This is not the first announcement of the anniversary GR IV for PTTL readers: in July we covered Ricoh’s initial announcement of the special model, when the company confirmed the limited production run and key design details but had not yet provided the final price or exact release date. The September announcement now fills those gaps.

The final edition and what changes

The final name is RICOH GR IV 30th Anniversary Edition Kit. The camera is based on the RICOH GR IV and retains the same core photographic specifications, with the changes focused on design and anniversary details.

The shutter release and rear controls use a dark silver accent inspired by the original 1996 GR1. The special GN-3 (30th) ring cap has a diamond-cut finish around the lens, designed to catch the light when the lens is retracted without causing unwanted reflections on the subject while shooting. A dedicated anniversary power-off graphic is also included.

What the 30th Anniversary Edition Kit includes

The package includes the RICOH GR IV 30th Anniversary Edition, GS-4 (30th) genuine leather finger strap, GK-2 (30th) metal hot shoe cover, GN-3 (30th) ring cap, DB-120 rechargeable battery, I-USB198 USB cable, hand strap and the GR 30th Anniversary Pin Badge Set.

The pin badge set contains 16 designs: 14 representing GR models from the GR1 through the GR IV, plus two kit-exclusive badges carrying the anniversary logo and GR logo. Ricoh will also sell selected anniversary accessories separately in some markets.

The photographic platform remains the GR IV

The Anniversary Edition uses the same photographic platform as the standard GR IV: an APS-C CMOS sensor with approximately 25.74 megapixels, an 18.3mm F2.8 fixed lens equivalent to roughly 28mm on full frame, GR ENGINE 7, 5-axis sensor-shift stabilization and sensitivity up to ISO 204800.

For street photographers and creators primarily interested in image-making, the performance therefore does not differ from the regular GR IV. The special edition mainly adds collectible value, historical references and exclusive accessories.

Price and availability

The RICOH GR IV 30th Anniversary Edition Kit launches on October 21, 2026 and is limited to 6,000 units worldwide. The official European RICOH GR store lists it at €1,699.99, with pre-orders open in limited quantities and confirmed orders shipping from launch day.

What we think

The key new information compared with the July announcement is now commercial: Ricoh has confirmed the final product name, exact release date, full kit contents and European price. There is no technical advantage for buyers who only want standard GR IV performance, while collectors and long-time GR users are the audience most likely to value the limited production run and anniversary details.
