Jason Statham returns as Adam Clay in the first teaser for The Beekeeper 2, with Timo Tjahjanto taking over as director and pitting the former assassin against his own organization.
Amazon MGM Studios released the official video on October 15, 2026, offering our first look at the follow-up to the 2024 action film. This time Clay is not simply chasing an outside enemy: the Beekeepers have turned against the US government, forcing him to face operatives trained in the same methods.

A fight against his own
Jeremy Irons returns as Wallace Westwyld, drawing Clay back into the conflict. The teaser moves from close-quarters fights to flamethrowers and an armed Dodge Super Bee. Pom Klementieff is among the new faces in the story.
The change in director matters. David Ayer directed the first film, while Indonesian filmmaker Timo Tjahjanto, known for The Night Comes for Us and Nobody 2, directs the sequel. At this stage we can assess how the teaser presents its action, not how those sequences will unfold in the finished movie.
What the teaser reveals about action filmmaking
The edit rapidly shifts between close physical confrontations, weapons and larger-scale explosions. The short shots communicate impact and scale, but they cannot yet tell us much about shot duration, spatial continuity or how legible the movement will be within the finished fight scenes.
For filmmakers, the contrast between intimate physical action and wider vehicle and effects shots is particularly interesting. The teaser uses Metallica’s “For Whom the Bell Tolls” to pull its escalating moments together. That is a choice made for the promotional edit, rather than reliable evidence of the full film’s pacing.
Cast and release
Emmy Raver-Lampman also returns as FBI agent Verona Parker, Bobby Naderi as Matt Wiley and Jemma Redgrave as President Jessica Danforth. New cast members include Yara Shahidi and Adam Copeland. The US theatrical release is scheduled for January 15, 2027, with LEONINE Studios announcing a January 14 opening in Germany. The cited announcements do not establish a Greek release date.
What we think
The intriguing part of this sequel is not simply seeing Statham back in a familiar kind of role. Turning his former organization into the enemy creates room for a different kind of confrontation: Clay may finally face opponents whose training matches his own.
Tjahjanto has built a reputation for aggressive, physical action, so his involvement is a good reason to pay attention to the choreography. Still, the teaser prioritizes spectacle. Its rapid cutting makes every impact land hard, while keeping the geography and the continuity of the longer sequences largely out of view.
For viewers and image-makers, that distinction matters. An effective action trailer can capture attention in seconds; an effective action scene has to sustain clarity and momentum for as long as the fight lasts. The Beekeeper 2 has a distinctive director and promising material, but the film itself will have to deliver on what this teaser suggests.
