The results confirm the continued strength of high-end compact cameras, as well as Fujifilm’s dominance in the Japanese market, with the company occupying four of the top five positions in the ranking.

The ten best-selling cameras at MAP Camera were:
- Fujifilm X100VI
- Sony A7 V

- Fujifilm X-E5
- Fujifilm X-M5
- Canon PowerShot G7 X III

Fujifilm Dominates
The biggest story is not only the X100VI taking first place, but Fujifilm’s overall presence. The company secured first, third, fourth and fifth place, demonstrating the strong appeal of its cameras among both enthusiasts and advanced photographers.
The X100VI remains highly popular thanks to its compact design, retro-inspired styling and modern imaging capabilities. Meanwhile, the X-T30 III, X-E5 and X-M5 address different segments of the market, from budget-conscious users to photographers looking for a compact interchangeable-lens system.
Compact Cameras Continue Their Rise
The MAP Camera ranking once again confirms the revival of compact cameras. Alongside the Fujifilm X100VI, the Canon PowerShot G7 X III, Panasonic Lumix TX3 and Ricoh GR IV also appear in the top ten.
This trend is visible across the Japanese market, where compact cameras have experienced growing demand as users seek portable devices capable of delivering image quality beyond that of smartphones.
Sony Remains Strong
Although it lost the top position, Sony maintains a strong presence in the ranking. The Sony A7 V placed second, while the A7C II and A6700 ranked eighth and ninth respectively.
The A7 V had topped previous monthly rankings and remains one of the most popular full-frame mirrorless cameras on the market.
What We Think
The MAP Camera ranking clearly shows that photographers are increasingly interested in smaller and more portable cameras without major compromises in image quality. Fujifilm continues to capitalize on this trend better than any other manufacturer, while the ongoing presence of compact cameras near the top of the rankings proves that this category is far more than a temporary trend.
