The price increases had already appeared in Europe
The development in Greece follows a broader trend that had started to become visible during the summer. In late July, PTTL had already covered the price increases expected to affect the X100VI, X-E5, X-T50, X-S20 and GFX100 II in a European market.
The prices in that case were not the same as the Greek figures, showing that the adjustments do not translate into a single final recommended price across every country.
In that earlier European case, Germany’s Fuji-Store cited rising semiconductor costs and higher production expenses among the factors behind the increases. This provides context for that specific European adjustment and should not be treated as a separately confirmed explanation for the current Greek prices.
What we think
The increases do not affect all five models equally. An additional €100 on the GFX100 II has relatively little impact compared with its overall price, while the same amount is much more noticeable on the X-S20, X-T50 and X-E5.
The X100VI is clearly the most significant case. The €200 increase and its move to €2,099 further raise the cost of an already premium compact camera and make comparisons with other photographic options in the same price range more relevant than ever.
