The Greek Society of Cinematographers is organizing two special screenings at the Greek Film Archive with free admission for the public.

On Monday, June 22 at 19:00, audiences will have the opportunity to attend two screenings in the presence of award-winning cinematographers, who will also participate in discussions following the films.

The initiative is part of the activities of the Greek Society of Cinematographers (GSC), offering professionals and cinema enthusiasts the chance to meet prominent image-makers and discuss the art of cinematography with them.

Screening of “Ludia”

At 19:00, the short film “Ludia” will be screened in the presence of cinematographer Giannis Georgiou.

Georgiou has been honored with the GSC Short Film Award 2026, and a discussion with the audience will follow the screening, focusing on the creative process, technical choices and production challenges.

Admission is free.

Screening of “A Complete Unknown”

As part of the same initiative, the film “A Complete Unknown,” the biographical feature about Bob Dylan starring Timothée Chalamet and photographed by Phedon Papamichael, will also be screened.

Papamichael, honored by the GSC for 2026, will attend the event and discuss the film with the audience following the screening.

An opportunity for cinematography enthusiasts

The two events offer audiences the chance to discover the work and creative thinking of two acclaimed cinematographers at a time when cinematic imagery continues to attract growing interest from professionals and students alike.

Direct interaction with filmmakers is often the most valuable aspect of such events, providing insights and experiences that cannot easily be conveyed through a simple screening.

What We Think

This initiative by the Greek Society of Cinematographers is an excellent opportunity for the Greek cinema community. Free access to screenings and discussions with award-winning cinematographers strengthens the connection between audiences and the art of visual storytelling while highlighting the important role of the people behind the camera.
