Motorola has confirmed the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, a new stabilization system, a real-time Video Enhancement Engine and Audio by Bang & Olufsen, while several core specifications remain undisclosed.
Two Sony LYTIA sensors at the heart of the camera system
The main camera uses the 50MP Sony LYTIA 910, a Type 1/1.28 sensor with LOFIC technology designed to extend dynamic range and better handle bright highlights. PetaPixel reports that the 200MP periscope telephoto camera uses Sony’s Type 1/1.12 LYTIA 901.
Motorola has not yet published full details for every rear camera or the front-facing camera. The current material therefore describes only the imaging hardware already confirmed, rather than the final complete camera configuration.
Video Enhancement Engine and new stabilization
For video, Motorola is adding a Video Enhancement Engine that uses AI to analyze the scene before and during recording and adjust color, exposure, highlights and shadows in real time. The company is positioning it as a tool for more consistent results in difficult lighting, night scenes and high-contrast situations.
Stabilization combines Qualcomm image-stabilization technology with 3.5-degree hardware OIS. Real-world performance while walking, panning and shooting handheld will require independent testing, but the architecture makes clear that video is a central part of this flagship rather than an afterthought.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 and ArcticMesh cooling
The signature 27 is among the first devices introduced with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. For creators, that matters primarily for image processing, on-device AI and sustained performance during demanding video capture.
Motorola also describes a redesigned ArcticMesh cooling system combining diamond-infused thermal gel, liquid metal, copper mesh and a 3D vapor chamber that is 40% larger than the previous generation. Thermal management is particularly relevant for a phone aimed at prolonged capture and computationally intensive workflows.
Design, materials and Audio by B&O
The phone uses an aluminum body, while the camera housing combines ceramic and brushed aluminum. Motorola has announced two finishes: PANTONE Coal Smoke with a Tactical Weave texture and PANTONE Capulet Olive with a textile-inspired brushed finish.
It is also the first Motorola smartphone to carry Audio by B&O branding, following the company’s multi-year partnership with Bang & Olufsen. Full details on speakers, codecs and related audio features have not yet been disclosed.
