The DJI Mic Mini 2S arrives in the Greek market with 32-bit float internal recording and a €209 price for the complete two-transmitter kit.

DJI has introduced the Mic Mini 2S, a compact wireless microphone system that adds built-in storage and independent audio recording to each transmitter. The new model also supports up to four transmitters through one receiver and is available in Greece in several configurations, with prices starting at €109.

Internal recording is the most important upgrade because it creates a backup copy inside the transmitter even if the wireless connection to the camera or receiver is interrupted. Support for 32-bit float also provides greater flexibility when correcting audio during post-production.

32-Bit Float Internal Recording

Each DJI Mic Mini 2S transmitter includes approximately 14.5GB of built-in storage and does not support external memory cards. The available capacity is sufficient for around 28 hours of internal recording in 24-bit or approximately 22 hours in 32-bit float.

The 32-bit float mode is disabled by default and can be enabled through the DJI Mimo app. This format can help recover audio recorded at a very low level or affected by sudden peaks.

Users can save either the original file or a processed version that applies features such as noise cancellation, low-cut filtering, voice profiles and adaptive gain control.

Up to Four Transmitters With One Receiver

One DJI Mic Mini 2S receiver can connect to as many as four transmitters simultaneously. This capability is intended for interviews, podcasts, discussions and small productions involving several speakers.

The system allows Mic Mini, Mic Mini 2 and Mic Mini 2S transmitters to be used together. A Mic Mini 2S transmitter can also connect to the DJI Mic Series Mobile Receiver, providing additional expansion options.

Four independent channel output is supported on selected Sony cameras through a compatible adapter, as well as through USB with specific computer software.

Noise Cancellation and Volume Control

The DJI Mic Mini 2S includes two levels of AI-based noise cancellation. The Basic setting is intended for moderate indoor sounds, while the stronger mode handles more demanding outdoor background noise.

Clipping Control automatically reduces the level when sudden peaks are detected, while Loudness Balance dynamically adjusts volume for more consistent results during interviews and live streams.

Regular, Bright and Rich voice tone profiles are also available, changing the character and presence of the voice without requiring extensive processing.

Weight, Range and Battery Life

Each transmitter weighs approximately 12 grams and can be attached to clothing using either a magnet or clip. Its magnetic front surface can be removed and replaced with covers in different colors.

Maximum transmission distance reaches 400 meters in an open environment without obstacles or interference. The transmitter provides up to 11 hours of operation, the receiver up to 10 hours and total operating time with the charging case reaches 40 hours.

A five-minute charge can provide approximately one additional hour of operation. If the receiver battery runs out, the transmitter can automatically activate internal recording to protect the audio.

Connections to Cameras and Smartphones

The receiver connects to cameras, smartphones, tablets and computers. The transmitter can also connect directly to a smartphone through Bluetooth, although only one transmitter can be used as the audio source at a time.

When connected directly through Bluetooth, recording does not work with the phone’s native camera app and requires a compatible third-party application.

Through the OsmoAudio ecosystem, the transmitters can connect directly to selected DJI devices without requiring a separate receiver.

What We Think

Internal recording fixes the most important limitation of the earlier Mic Mini and Mic Mini 2. The addition of 32-bit float, storage in every transmitter and support for four transmitters makes the Mic Mini 2S considerably more suitable for interviews and professional productions. However, the €209 price of the complete kit brings it relatively close to more advanced wireless microphone systems.
