7Artisans has released the AF 18mm F2, a very small APS-C prime for Sony E with STM autofocus, an f/2 aperture, a weight of about 109 grams and an official price of $169.
On Sony APS-C cameras it delivers a field of view roughly equivalent to 27mm on full frame, placing it in a practical range for street, travel, everyday photography and video without adding much bulk to the camera.
Tiny body, 27mm-equivalent view
The lens measures 64mm in diameter and only 32mm in length. 7Artisans lists the E-mount version at about 109g and describes an all-metal construction with a square retro-style hood, clearly positioning it as an ultra-portable prime.

An 18mm focal length on APS-C gives an angle of view similar to about 27mm on full frame. It is wide enough for environmental, street and travel work without reaching the exaggerated perspective of an ultra-wide lens.
STM autofocus and controls
Focusing is driven by an STM stepping motor, which the company describes as fast and quiet for stills and video. The lens includes a separate focus ring, a clicked aperture ring covering f/2 to f/16, and a USB-C port for firmware updates.

7Artisans also claims a dust-sealed design. That is a manufacturer statement rather than an independent weather-sealing or durability test.
Optical design and close focusing
The optical design uses 9 elements in 7 groups and a 9-blade diaphragm. Minimum focusing distance is 0.2m, the stated angle of view is 77 degrees, and the front thread accepts 52mm filters.
The f/2 aperture provides a useful low-light advantage over slower pancake lenses, but real-world sharpness, contrast, flare resistance and corner performance still need practical testing before drawing conclusions about image quality.
Sony E compatibility: support varies by body
7Artisans does not give every Sony E body the same status in its official compatibility list. Models such as the a6700, a6400 and ZV-E10 are marked as fully compatible, while the FX30, a6600 and a6500 are listed as basically compatible, with some functions still being improved.
Because this is an APS-C lens, full-frame E-mount bodies need to use an APS-C crop for the appropriate sensor area.
Price and availability
The official 7Artisans store lists the lens at $169 and offers it for Sony E. We did not find an official euro price specifically for the Greek market.

What we think
The main appeal of the AF 18mm F2 is not that it promises to replace a larger premium prime, but that it combines a 27mm-equivalent view, f/2 and autofocus in a 109g body. On compact Sony APS-C cameras, that may matter more in everyday use than a small difference on a specification sheet, provided real-world AF and optical performance hold up in independent testing.
