Adobe is bringing music from Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group into Premiere mobile, but the song licenses do not cover professional productions.
On November 3, 2026, Adobe announced partnerships with the two major music groups to let creators discover and add clips from familiar songs directly inside its free mobile video editor. The feature is coming soon rather than launching immediately.
How the new music library will work
Creators will be able to browse by artist or song, filter tracks by genre and duration, preview music, save favorites, and explore collections curated by the labels. That makes it possible to choose the soundtrack before cutting the footage.
Each video can include up to 60 seconds of an available song. Adobe is also developing customizable templates paired with music, allowing creators to build edits around a track’s rhythm and changes from the beginning.
Completed videos can be exported from Premiere mobile and published to licensed social platforms. Adobe’s announcement does not provide a complete list of supported platforms or clarify the rules for reusing the same video across other destinations.
The license does not cover ads or client work
This is the detail that matters most to professional video creators: the new Universal and Warner music clips will be licensed for personal, non-commercial use only. A song appearing inside the editor does not automatically clear it for advertising, a branded Reel, a sponsored post, or a video made for a client.
The 60-second limit is not, by itself, permission for commercial use. For projects requiring commercially licensed music, Adobe points creators to Adobe Stock Audio, which has its own licensing terms. Creators should verify the specific rights and publishing destination before delivering a video.
When will the feature arrive?
Adobe has not announced a release date, a complete track list, or the names of participating artists. It has also not said whether the feature will launch simultaneously on iOS and Android or whether access to these songs will carry an additional charge.
Premiere mobile is already available as a free mobile app. The Android release in September brought multi-track editing, audio tools, and exports up to 4K without a watermark. This announcement concerns the music library, not a new release of desktop Premiere.

What we think
For a quick personal video, finding a track inside the editor, previewing the right section, and cutting the footage to the beat could be genuinely useful. It removes the extra file transfers between apps and lets creators work with the soundtrack from the first cut instead of bolting it on at the end.
But for those of us producing Reels for businesses, campaigns, or client videos, this is not a free music-licensing solution. An edit might look finished, yet if the soundtrack is not cleared for commercial use, it is not ready to deliver. That is something worth sorting out before editing begins, not when the video is about to go live.
Adobe is making mobile editing more attractive for personal and short-form work. For professional projects, we would like the app to draw a very clear line between its personal-use catalog and tracks with commercial rights, so creators can make the right call as soon as they pick their music.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use a Universal or Warner song in an advertisement?
Not under this specific Premiere mobile license, which is limited to personal, non-commercial use. Advertising and professional projects require appropriate commercial rights.
Does using only 60 seconds make a track safe to use?
No. Sixty seconds is the maximum clip duration supported by the feature, not an exemption from its licensing restrictions.
Are the new songs available in Premiere mobile already?
Not according to Adobe’s November 3, 2026 announcement. The feature is described as coming soon, with no specific release date.
