BenQ has introduced the Creative Pro PV3250U and PV2750U, two 4K 120Hz monitors with a strong focus on dark-tone accuracy, hardware calibration and professional color-grading workflows.
The new Creative Pro PV50 series consists of the 31.5-inch PV3250U and the 27-inch PV2750U. Both run at 3840×2160 resolution and up to 120Hz and are designed by BenQ for video editors, colorists and post-production professionals, following the original European announcement on August 25, 2026.
Their significance goes beyond resolution or wide color coverage. BenQ is specifically targeting one of the more difficult parts of grading: maintaining visible separation in very dark areas without black crush, while combining that with hardware calibration, a 16-bit 3D LUT and dedicated on-monitor inspection tools.
Two sizes, almost identical technical foundations
The PV3250U uses a 31.5-inch panel with a density of 140 ppi, while the smaller PV2750U is 27 inches and reaches 163 ppi. Most of their key specifications are otherwise the same: 3840×2160 4K UHD resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 5ms GtG response time, 450 nits typical brightness and 600 nits peak HDR brightness.
Both displays support HDR10, HLG and VESA DisplayHDR 600, reproduce 1.07 billion colors, and cover 100% sRGB, 100% Rec.709 and 99% P3. BenQ’s European specification sheets also list an average Delta E≤1 for both models.
Shadows are the core focus of the PV50 series
BenQ is placing particular emphasis on IPS Black panels and their native 3000:1 contrast ratio, roughly three times the 1000:1 figure common on many conventional IPS displays. According to the company, the monitors can reach 0.03-nit black levels under Rec.709 conditions, helping preserve more tonal separation in very dark areas.
Dark-Tone Clarity is tuned around Rec.709 and gamma 2.4 so that low-grey steps do not collapse into a single black level. This matters in professional color grading because detail that disappears on the editor’s display can result in an incorrect adjustment and a different result in the final master.
16-bit 3D LUT and hardware calibration
A key feature is hardware calibration using an internal 16-bit 3D LUT. Instead of relying exclusively on corrections applied through the GPU or operating system, calibration data is stored inside the monitor itself. BenQ says its 3D LUT maps nearly 5,000 RGB reference points to correct hue, saturation and gamut relationships.
The PV3250U and PV2750U support 3D LUT files in .cube format and include Uniformity Technology, ICCsync and Gamut Duo, along with a factory calibration report. They are also Calman Verified and Calman Ready, while BenQ’s official product pages refer to ColourSpace integration.
Shadow Check, markers and Area Zoom
The PV50 series also includes features that make more sense inside a genuine post-production workflow than on a conventional desktop monitor.
Shadow Check selectively lifts low-luminance regions so an editor can inspect detail, artifacts or compositing issues without changing the original incoming signal. Markers provide overlays for different aspect ratios and safety areas, while Area Zoom magnifies a selected part of the image for closer inspection.
The package also includes the Wireless Hotkey Puck G4 for quick access to commonly used functions and a magnetic shading hood that reduces ambient light around the display.
Thunderbolt 4, KVM and Mac connectivity
Connectivity is extensive. Both models include HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, Thunderbolt 4 with DisplayPort Alt Mode and up to 96W Power Delivery, a second Thunderbolt 4 output with up to 15W power, USB-C and three 10Gbps USB-A ports. Daisy chaining, KVM, PiP/PbP and headphone connectivity are also supported.
BenQ also integrates an ESS DAC capable of driving headphones with impedance up to 300 ohms, which may be useful for video editors monitoring audio at the same workstation. M-book Mode and iDevice Color Sync are included for matching or previewing color across Apple devices.
There is one important caveat for Mac-based daisy chaining. BenQ notes that standard Apple Silicon M1 and M2 systems do not natively support multiple external monitors through this arrangement, while daisy chaining can be used with Pro, Max and Ultra variants.
A major step up from the PV3200U
Comparing the new models with the earlier PV3200U shows how much has changed. That 31.5-inch display was also 4K, but ran at 60Hz, offered 1000:1 contrast, covered 95% P3, reached 350 nits typical brightness and carried DisplayHDR 400 certification.
The PV3250U therefore doubles the refresh rate from 60Hz to 120Hz, triples contrast from 1000:1 to 3000:1, expands P3 coverage from 95% to 99%, moves from DisplayHDR 400 to DisplayHDR 600 and adds 16-bit 3D LUT hardware calibration plus dedicated dark-tone inspection tools.
The PV line is also positioned differently from Creative Pro displays such as the BenQ PD2732U previously covered by PTTL. The PD2732U has a broader cross-media focus and 99% Adobe RGB coverage, while the PV50 models are much more explicitly aimed at Rec.709, video grading, shadow reproduction and post-production.
Availability and price
BenQ says PV50 launch timing and availability vary by region. European pricing is already available for the PV3250U, although it is not identical across markets: BenQ Austria announced a recommended retail price of €1,649 including VAT, while BenQ France lists the model at €1,599. BenQ’s pan-European comparison page has also shown a €1,612.33 price with a Notify Me status.
The PV2750U does not yet have a single official European price listed by BenQ Europe. In the US it has been announced at $1,099.99 for availability during fall 2026; at the September 11, 2026 exchange rate, that is approximately €948 before European VAT or other local charges, so it should not be treated as an indication of the final European retail price.
At the time of publication, no official Greek pricing or specific availability date has been announced for either model.

The PV3250U and PV2750U show that BenQ is not simply adding two more 4K Creative Pro monitors. The move to 3000:1 contrast, 120Hz, HDR600 and 16-bit 3D LUT hardware calibration addresses genuine requirements in professional video workflows, particularly when critical grading decisions depend on shadow detail and very small tonal differences.
The PV3250U appears to be the more complete option for users wanting a larger grading workspace, while the PV2750U provides essentially the same feature set at higher pixel density and in a smaller footprint. The key unanswered questions for Europe are the final price of the 27-inch model and the real-world availability of both displays in individual countries.
