Summary
- The new FALCAM F38 Safety Lock Quick Release Kit uses two independent locks.
- It supports dual-screw mounting and a magnetic stopper to reduce screw loosening.
- The safety pins require compatible Arca-type slots.
- No official European price was confirmed for this exact kit.
FALCAM has updated its F38 quick-release system with an additional layer of protection intended to reduce the chance of accidentally detaching a camera from its mount.
Introduced on October 29, 2026, the F38 Safety Lock Quick Release Kit (F38B6603) combines independent two-stage mechanical locking with measures to help keep mounting screws from loosening. The aim is to retain quick equipment changes without relying on a single release button.
Two locking stages instead of a single release
The new base has two independent locking mechanisms. Sliding the control into the locked position blocks an accidental press that could otherwise release the plate. The second stage offers a further mechanical safeguard once the camera is seated.
Attachment still uses the familiar push-to-engage motion, while deliberate unlocking is needed before removal. That distinction matters when moving between a tripod and slider or changing camera supports on a shoot.

Two mounting screws and a magnetic stopper
The plate supports dual-screw mounting on compatible camera cages with 10–20 mm hole spacing. Using two screws can reduce the plate twisting under the camera when the rig is repositioned or placed under torsion.
For single-screw setups, a magnetic stopper helps prevent the mounting screw rotating and gradually loosening relative to the plate. The removable component also doubles as a magnetic tool for small adjustments.

Arca-type compatibility comes with a qualification
The kit supports Arca-Swiss-type mounting, but the safety-stop pins require compatible slots on the receiving clamp, with slot widths under 15 mm. An “Arca-compatible” label alone does not guarantee every safety function will work with every third-party clamp.
Secure quick-release attachment is also a consideration elsewhere: the SIRUI BH-60 hybrid head features an Arca-Swiss platform with a separate locking lever and safety mechanism. This does not establish that the two particular components have been tested together.
FALCAM also provides integrated strap attachment points and 1/4-inch and 3/8-inch mounting threads for use with several kinds of support equipment.

Specifications and box contents
Model F38B6603 uses 6061 aluminum alloy, measures approximately 53.4 × 38 × 20.8 mm and has a net weight of approximately 55.8 g.
The kit includes the F38 Safety Lock base and plate, two low-profile 1/4-inch screws, two flat-point set screws, a hex key and a 1.5 mm Allen key.

Price and availability
The product is listed as available in FALCAM’s official online store. No confirmed official European price was found for this exact Safety Lock Kit, so prices for older F38 products or different variants should not be treated as its price.
What we think
Quick release matters on a real shoot because it saves time. But if a button can be pressed accidentally or a mounting screw gradually loosens, that convenience becomes a liability. FALCAM is addressing two very specific concerns when a relatively tiny connection is supporting a camera and lens worth thousands.
The combination of two independent locks and dual-screw mounting is particularly sensible. One tackles unintended detachment, while the other helps prevent the plate twisting against the camera or cage. These are different failure modes, and addressing both in one compact kit is useful.
Before relying on it in production, we would check the exact Arca clamp on our own rig and confirm the cage’s screw-hole spacing. And even with the added locks, checking that the plate has fully engaged before lifting the camera remains a good habit.
Frequently asked questions
Does it work with every Arca-Swiss clamp?
Not necessarily with every safety feature. The anti-slide safety pins require compatible slots under 15 mm wide. Check the exact receiving clamp before use.
Is a camera cage required for dual-screw mounting?
Two-screw mounting is intended for compatible cages or other surfaces with holes 10–20 mm apart. For single-screw setups, the magnetic stopper helps limit screw loosening.
