How quickly can you set up a tripod and attach your camera? The new COMAN T1 Mini promises three-second deployment and one-second camera mounting, bringing a one-click travel tripod to Kickstarter.

COMAN calls it the “world’s first one-click travel tripod.” Announced on October 28, 2026, its main pitch centers on 26 mm leg tubes, a compact travel design and faster operation. The setup times and the “world’s first” wording are manufacturer claims.

Three seconds for the legs, one second for the camera

The T1 Mini uses four-section legs with one-touch locks. Open the lever on each leg, slide the sections to your chosen height and close it again. This is not a single button that automatically deploys all three legs at once. COMAN says the complete setup can take around three seconds.

The other half of the claim concerns the head. Its side-mounted Arca-Swiss release lever replaces the usual screw-type plate tightening, allowing camera attachment or removal in approximately one second, COMAN says. The company claims compatibility with 99% of Arca-Swiss plates, but this percentage is not an independent test result.

Construction combines ten-layer 3K carbon fiber with aluminum alloy and stainless-steel fittings. The tripod weighs approximately 1.65 kg, supports loads up to 6 kg, extends to 1,595 mm and folds to 533 mm.

The center column has a Y-shaped profile with channels that accommodate the legs when folded. COMAN says this reduces packed volume by 30%. When travelling with a camera, lenses and tripod, the size of the kit can matter as much as another impressive specification.

Three leg-angle settings and interchangeable rubber feet or metal spikes help on different surfaces. Faster tripod setup is not an entirely new idea: the Manfrotto ONE Hybrid Tripod with XTEND also focuses on quick leg deployment. COMAN’s “world’s first” label should therefore be treated as marketing language rather than a verified comparison against every other design.

Arca-Swiss, panoramic head and low-angle options

The included ball head offers 360° horizontal rotation and landscape or portrait camera orientation. COMAN says its inverted-bowl design helps retain a compact folded profile. If your video work demands controlled pan and tilt movement, a specialist solution like the SIRUI BH-60 hybrid head meets a different need from the T1 Mini’s ball head.

The center column can be inverted for macro and ground-level shots. The standard kit also includes the short PH100 column with a 3/8″-16 fitting, while two ARRI-style 1/4″-20 attachment points at the base can carry small monitors, microphones or arms.

Extra uses with optional accessories

Light-stand conversion is an additional use requiring a separate accessory, rather than the campaign’s headline feature. The optional PH110 Light Stand Shaft takes maximum height to 2,285 mm and allows use as a light stand or 360° camera support. It is not included in the standard kit. Extra care is needed with stability when mounting a light or modifier.

The optional DP59 magnetic mount can hold a smartphone next to a camera as a monitor or teleprompter.

Price and availability

The Kickstarter campaign started on October 28, 2026 and is due to end on November 27, 2026. Pledges start at $279.99 for Black and $299.99 for Silver and Military Green. An official European price has not been confirmed.

The basic package includes the ball head, Arca-Swiss plate, short PH100 column, soft carrying pouch, adjustment tool and manual. This is an active crowdfunding campaign, so backing it is not the same as ordering in-stock retail equipment, and delivery may be delayed.

What we think

The useful part here is not just the number “3”. If you keep repositioning a tripod during travel photography, documentary work or a shoot, every extra lock adds friction. Being able to change the length of an entire leg with one lever per leg could make day-to-day setup noticeably faster.

The fast Arca-Swiss camera release is the other compelling detail. We would want to check how securely it holds different plates, especially with a heavy lens or the camera rotated into portrait orientation. Ease of deployment also tells us little about stability: vibration and the behavior of the extended legs are equally important.

Light-stand conversion is a bonus, but it is not what would draw us to the T1 Mini first. The intended user is a photographer or filmmaker trying to cut setup time and packed bulk without carrying a large professional tripod.

Frequently asked questions

Does one button deploy all three legs?

No. The one-touch system uses one lock lever on each leg to adjust its four sections together. COMAN claims a total setup time of about three seconds.

Is the PH110 light-stand extension included?

No. The PH110 extension is optional. The short PH100 center column is included in the standard kit.
