Canon and Bandai have made a collection for photographers who would love to carry an EOS R1, a 5D Mark II or a PowerShot G7 X Mark III… hanging from their bag.

The new “Canon Mejirushi Accessories” are miniature collectible camera charms roughly 1.8 centimeters tall. Announced on October 28, 2026, they expand an earlier collaboration between the two companies, this time putting compact digital cameras in the spotlight.

From the EOS R1 to colorful IXY compacts: the complete lineup

The range features seven Canon camera models in eleven versions. Five camera choices appeared in the original Canon Miniature Camera Collection, while the new additions are the IXY 210F in four colors and the PowerShot G7 X Mark III in two.

The five classic models are the IV Sb (4Sb) with Serenar 50mm f/1.8 I, 7S with Canon 50mm f/0.95, F-1 with FD 55mm f/1.2 S.S.C. Aspherical, EOS 5D Mark II with EF 24–70mm f/2.8L USM, and EOS R1 with the white RF 70–200mm f/2.8 L IS USM Z.

The EOS 5D Mark II, a DSLR that helped shape the history of video, now sits alongside the much newer EOS R1. The selection spans film rangefinders and today’s professional mirrorless cameras.

The IXY 210F comes in pink, orange, blue and silver, while the PowerShot G7 X Mark III comes in black and silver. There is a particularly interesting collectible connection here: Canon has also released a 30th-anniversary edition of the full-size G7 X Mark III.

More than shelf decorations: charms for umbrellas and bags

“Mejirushi Accessories” are little markers designed to attach to everyday belongings. Each model combines a painted ABS miniature with a small metal clasp and silicone loop, so it can hang from an umbrella handle, pouch zip or camera bag.

That practical detail separates these from conventional miniature cameras. Instead of staying on a shelf or a desk, the small photographic keepsake can travel with its owner.

Price and availability in Japan

The official Japanese price is 400 yen per random draw, including tax. You cannot guarantee the model you receive: Gashapon Online uses a digital draw, mirroring the randomness of a physical capsule vending machine.

Online preorders opened on October 28, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Japan time. Bandai’s official product listing sets the closing time at November 8, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Japan time, or earlier if the allocated supply sells out. Online orders are expected to ship in late February 2027.

The collection is due in Japanese Gashapon vending machines in February 2027 and is intended for ages 15 and up. No official European pricing or Greek launch has been announced in the sources checked.

What we think

There is something genuinely appealing about seeing the EOS 5D Mark II and F-1 alongside the current EOS R1 at this scale. For anyone who has worked with one of these cameras, the miniature can bring back memories of real shoots. For younger photographers, it is a playful introduction to cameras that helped define the medium.

The compact cameras may be the most interesting part of this expansion. The G7 X and colorful IXY models lack the imposing presence of a professional body, but that is exactly what makes them distinctive. They evoke a time when a camera was also a personal object, chosen as much for its color and character as its photographic purpose.
