The Feiyu Pocket 4 is now on sale for $299, bringing 4K at 60fps and a mechanical three-axis gimbal to a genuinely pocket-sized camera.

FeiyuTech first revealed development of the camera in the spring, but the news now is its retail availability. It is a more affordable option in the pocket-camera category for vlogging, travel and moving shots.

50MP sensor, 4K60 and the lens compromise

Inside is a 1/1.55-inch CMOS sensor capable of 50MP photographs. The camera records 4K up to 60fps, 2.7K up to 60fps and Full HD up to 120fps, with H.264 or H.265 compression and a maximum bitrate of 80Mbps. DNG stills are supported too, offering more flexibility for photo editing.

The wide-angle lens covers 110° with an f/2.2 aperture. There is one important limitation: it uses fixed focus and has no autofocus. AI tracking rotates the gimbal to follow faces and objects, but it does not refocus the lens. That matters when shooting products and small details at close range.

A 2.64-inch sliding touchscreen that also protects the lens

The square 2.64-inch touchscreen has a 480 × 480 resolution and shows the complete 4:3 frame. Sliding it down turns the camera on. Sliding it upward first locks the gimbal, then covers the camera head to protect the lens during transport without a separate cap.

The gimbal provides mechanical three-axis stabilization with up to 450° of pan travel. Face and object tracking, gesture controls, and 4:3, 16:9 and 9:16 framing options are available. Panorama, time-lapse and slow-motion modes add flexibility for solo creators.

111GB available, no microSD: convenience with a limit

Built-in eMMC storage is rated at 128GB, of which approximately 111GB is available for files. No card is required, but there is no microSD slot for expansion either. At the maximum 80Mbps bitrate, 111GB represents roughly three hours of recording, before allowing for other files and storage overhead.

Footage can be transferred over USB-C or wirelessly using the Feiyu Cam app, which also provides remote control. USB-C supports UVC webcam operation. The camera has a built-in microphone, while FeiyuTech also lists an optional accessory combining a wireless microphone and extra power.

Battery, weight and comparison with DJI

The camera weighs 205g and measures 140.5 × 52.6 × 31.7mm when folded. FeiyuTech quotes up to 150 minutes of battery life in favorable conditions and supports 18W fast charging. Actual endurance will vary with resolution and frame rate.

The DJI Osmo Pocket 4 offers a larger 1-inch sensor, autofocus, 10-bit D-Log and more slow-motion options, but sits in a higher price category. Feiyu counters with a lower entry price, a sliding lens cover and generous built-in storage. As a B-camera for a production, missing autofocus and a documented Log profile may matter more than a larger display.

Price and availability

The Feiyu Pocket 4 is listed in FeiyuTech’s official online store at $299 for the standard kit. A $379 Creator Kit adds accessories. No official European price in euros was found, so the dollar figures should not be interpreted as final Greek retail prices.

What we think

At $299, the Pocket 4 makes a case for carrying a separate stabilized 4K60 camera without tying up your phone throughout a shoot. Its sliding lens protection also makes practical sense if you keep taking the camera out of your pocket during the day.

We see its strongest use in travel videos, behind-the-scenes clips and quick social content. Fixed focus is a substantial drawback when you move close to objects, change shooting distance often, or want a main camera for product demonstrations. Subject tracking does not solve the focus problem.

Non-expandable storage is the trade-off behind the simplicity: you cannot forget your SD card, but on a full shooting day you need a plan to offload and back up files. If you depend on Log grading, dependable autofocus or more flexible professional audio, spending more on another class of camera has a clear practical justification.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Feiyu Pocket 4 have autofocus?

No. It uses a fixed-focus lens. Face and object tracking moves the gimbal; it is not an autofocus system.

Can I add a microSD card?

No. It has 128GB of nominal built-in storage, with around 111GB available for files, and no microSD expansion slot.
