With the flight module connected, VERSA is designed to operate as a self-flying camera rather than a conventional drone requiring continuous piloting. According to HOVERAir, it can recognise and follow a subject, adjust the framing and perform automated camera movements without a separate remote controller.

HOVERAir’s idea addresses a genuine problem for solo creators, travellers and vloggers: carrying and coordinating different devices for ground-level and aerial footage. Using the same camera in both situations could also provide greater consistency in image quality and colour.
