The Photometria Book Fair brings photobooks, independent publishers and artist talks to WOW Space in Ioannina on 10–11 October 2026.

Part of the 18th Photometria International Photography Festival, the two-day event features books, zines and talks by photographers and publishers from Greece and abroad.

Saturday 10 October, 12:00–14:30

Hanno Ketterer — Love Letters from the War: Based on his grandfather’s letters from the Second World War front, exploring memory, love and loss.

Χρήστος Σωτηρόπουλος — KUZUVOCHERO: The Athens–Pyrgos motorway construction and its effects on landscape and human relationships.

Γρηγόρης Δίγκας — Borders: A discussion of borders, place, identity and the making of the book.

Jana Gertz — Babcia: Family memory, migration, otherness and fragmentary stories.

Maryna Syrovatka — Don’t Worry, I’m Fine: Personal stories of displacement and experiences of war.

Saturday 10 October, 17:00–19:30

Hyper Hypo / Κωστής Φωκάς — Boys With Feelings: Presentation of Fokas’s first solo book, discussing the male body, intimacy and the gaze.

Papairlines — Travelogue: Greek Everyday Solutions to Common Problems, Vol. 1 & 2: A look at the independent publishing practice behind both volumes.

Two Spiky Gorillaz: A collaborative initiative focused on visual storytelling, zines and photobooks.

Lia Nalbantidou & L.LAB: Presentation of L. Loves Artists’ Books, supported by Stratos Kalafatis and Ioustini Drakoulakou.

DEPOT: The development and collaborative publishing approach of the independent photography initiative.

Sunday 11 October, 12:00–15:30

K-Gold Temporary Gallery / Νικόλας Βαμβουκλής: Selected art publications from the Lesvos gallery, exploring art and local communities.

Sun Archive / Łukasz Rusznica: The photobook as a space for experimentation, collaboration and visual storytelling.

Blind Mind Editions / Μαρίνα Λεγάκη: The publishing initiative’s evolution through friendships and creative collaborations.

BECA: Contemporary photography in Bulgaria, education and Balkan collaborations.

Pamoja Press — We Just Stayed: Filip Piotrowicz’s book on memory and population movements after the Second World War.

What we think

The programme highlights the photobook as an independent creative medium, not simply a portfolio in print. The opportunity to meet makers and publishers is particularly relevant for photographers considering their own editions.
