Photographs from Vogue Greece editorials, haute couture creations and contemporary artworks come together in A World in Between, hosted at the Museum of Cycladic Art from 31 October to 5 November 2026, with free admission.

Curated by Nicolas Vamvouklis, the presentation explores contemporary image-making, craftsmanship and our ideas of beauty. It brings the magazine’s material into an exhibition space, connecting its print edition with Vogue Greece’s digital platforms, social media and events.

Photography, art and fashion share a space

Archival photographs appear alongside historical and new artworks, video pieces and interactive installations in an almost theatrical setting. Participating artists include Anne Imhof, Lena Kitsopoulou, Helmut Lang, Yorgos Lanthimos, Kresiah Mukwazhi and Pipilotti Rist.

Lanthimos’s participation will interest anyone following his photographic practice, which also included an exhibition of 182 photographs at Onassis Stegi earlier in 2026. Here, his work forms part of a group presentation bringing different creative media together.

Fashion creations by Maison Margiela, Noir Kei Ninomiya, Iris van Herpen and Elie Saab appear alongside work by internationally established Greek designers Mary Katrantzou, Sophia Kokosalaki, Angelos Frentzos and Di Petsa. Placing garments, photographs and installations together brings both the surface of an image and the materials and ideas behind it into focus.

From the printed page to an exhibition experience

The presentation is connected to this year’s international Vogue Greece Change Makers IV conference. Elis Kiss, Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Greece, places the initiative at the intersection of fashion, beauty, contemporary art and culture, with the aim of creating new narratives. She also connects the museum setting with the abstract power of Cycladic figurines and their enduring representation of the human body.

Vamvouklis focuses on how the encounter between fashion and contemporary art reflects the spirit of the time, with fluid boundaries between media. Nicolas Georgiou, Creative and Fashion Director of Vogue Greece, describes the ambition as transforming the magazine’s two-dimensional surface into a multidimensional experience.

Location and opening hours

A World in Between takes place on the first floor of Stathatos Mansion at the Museum of Cycladic Art, at the junction of Vasilissis Sofias Avenue and 1 Irodotou Street in Athens. Admission to the presentation is free for all visitors.

What we think

For a photographer, seeing an editorial image alongside an actual garment and an artwork offers a useful shift in perspective. Lighting, body position and framing determine what we notice in a photograph; the exhibition space adds scale, texture and the viewer’s distance. That change in how we look provides a concrete reason to visit.

We would pay particular attention to the relationships between the exhibits: how a photograph changes our reading of a garment, or how a sculpture affects the image next to it. It is a useful exercise for anyone planning shoots, editing a photographic series or considering how to present their work beyond a screen.
