GoPro and Italian helmet maker AGV are developing a motorcycle helmet with integrated camera technology, confirming a 2027 release window and showing a new official teaser.
The announcement was published on November 2, 2026. The collaboration brings AGV’s experience in helmet design and safety together with GoPro’s digital-imaging expertise, with capture technology built into the helmet rather than simply added as an accessory.
The teaser shows a full-face helmet with a small camera assembly positioned low beneath the visor. It gives us an early look at the concept, not a full set of final technical specifications.
What the official teaser shows
The video focuses on the helmet’s overall shape and the low-profile camera placement at the front. It is a different approach from attaching a separate action camera to an external helmet mount.
An integrated camera could provide a cleaner profile and a more consistent rider’s-eye shooting angle. GoPro has not yet detailed the camera sensor, video resolution, image stabilization, battery life or audio features of this helmet.
Safety and the GoPro–AGV partnership
AGV brings specialist helmet design expertise, while GoPro contributes its image-capture and processing technology. The project was also mentioned in GoPro’s second-quarter 2026 results, which included confirmation that it had achieved compliance with the ECE 22.06 helmet safety standard.
That standard matters because electronics and imaging components must not be considered separately from a helmet’s protective role. The November 2 announcement, however, does not include a detailed engineering dossier or a complete feature list.
2027 availability and the Test Pilot Program
GoPro says the helmet is coming in 2027, without specifying a month, price or Greek-market availability. Its official page includes a sign-up form for product updates.
Riders interested in the Test Pilot Program can also submit their social media handles and helmet size when signing up. Registering interest does not guarantee a testing place and is not a preorder.

GoPro moves beyond conventional action cameras
The helmet fits into GoPro’s broader effort to apply its imaging technology to other types of equipment. The company had already discussed plans for motorcycle helmets with integrated hardware before this latest, more specific launch announcement.
For creators filming road trips, track days or riding footage, the appeal lies in POV capture and a simpler setup: fewer external mounts and a more integrated package. Those are potential benefits of the concept, rather than tested performance claims for the finished product.
What we think
Building the camera into the helmet from the outset is a compelling idea. Anyone rigging a motorcycle for POV video has to think about mounting position, framing, cables, batteries and controls that are usable with gloves. Thoughtful integration could remove some of that friction.
But for video creators, putting a lens beneath the visor is only the beginning. We want to know how the footage holds up to vibration, what happens to wind noise and how recording can be controlled without distracting the rider. Those details will make the difference between an exciting concept and a tool people can genuinely rely on.
Above all, it has to work as a helmet first and a camera second. Partnering with a specialist like AGV makes sense, provided safety and day-to-day practicality remain ahead of the gadget appeal.
